One ticked off the bucket list!
When it comes to art, 'Transport for London' boasts of some of the best poster designs, consistent through the years. It was such a honour to have two of my posters selected amongst thousands of entries from over 20 countries, to be displayed as part of the 'London Stories' exhibit at the London Transport Museum.
The first titled 'Migrants of London' is special to me, because it's in a way my story. Coming to the city in 2014, with no friends, family or work, London welcomed me with open arms. With people from all over the world, finding joy in the fact that we are not alike, but also.. not unlike!
The opening was a full house on a rainy Friday evening, and the response was brilliant. Here are some photos of the event. I have put together a few of my favourite pieces, that are so quintessentially 'London' to me.
The exhibition is on till July, so if you happen to be in Covent Garden, do pop in for this at the London Transport Museum. If you haven't been here, it's a beautiful museum and houses many old models of trains and routemasters. The museum shop is a treat for those who love the London Underground, lots of classic posters and memorabilia.
Some of my favourite posters, starting with this one of Canary Wharf. Strangely this angle of London looks more like Gotham City !
'Yesterday's News'
Gotta love this! 'Graffiti on Upper Clapton Road'
'The Secret Life os London's Foxes'
'Naked Bike Ride'
I have always wondered, if you were a tourist to land up in London on naked bike ride day, what would you make of it? So surreal.
'A city with a story in every corner'
The well deserved winner titled 'London is the Place for me' . This to me represents everything this city is about. I knew it was a winner the first time I saw it!
'The 35 to Albany road'
'The Ghost Bus'
